In 1958 Gerhart Bürstner, the son of the company’s founder, was convinced that there was a bright future ahead for mobile home holidays. In cooperation with a regional company offering chassis solutions, he developed a solid structure for providing excellent furnishings. Burstner are now part of the Hymer group of companies.

Compass manufacture top quality Caravans & Motorhomes. Compass Caravans was founded by Siddle Cook and his son Ray. It was part of the Explorer group until it was taken over by Hymer. Now part of the Erwin Hymer group of companies which is owned by Thor Industries of the US.

Dethleffs manufacture a range of brilliantly engineered Motorhomes. Arist Dethleffs built his first recreational vehicle in 1931 which allowed his family to travel with him on his business trips. He names his invention "Wohnauto".

Elddis is a leading manufacturer of Touring Caravans & Motorhomes. Siddle & Mary Cook built their first caravan in the 1950's. By !965 they were producing a line of caravans. The brand name was created by reversing

ETRUSCO manufacture High Quality Motorhomes History of ETRUSCO ETRUSCO was founded in 2016 in Tuscany. ETRUSCO is part of the Erwin Hymer group of companies.

FLEURETTE manufacture Motorhomes of the utmost quality and practical design. Jean Lucas made his first folding Caravan in 1967. 20 years later his son Jacky took over the business and started Motorhome production in 2000. He sold to the RAPIDO group in 2005 so that he could concentrate on his boat. Roger Therrien was the original importer of Fleurette in !987 when Esterel went into liquidation. Esterel was bought by RAPIDO. Roger was also the original importer of RAPIDO in 1975.

A range of quality Motorhomes inspired by the Italian flair for style and elegance McLouis motorhomes was founded in 1999 and was first introduced into the UK by Don Amott. Now part of the Auto-Sleepers Company which in turn is owned by the Trigano Group.

Giottiline manufacture Motorhomes of original stylish characteristics such as its originaGIOTTILINE was founded by the Giotti family in 2004 in Barberino Val d'Elsa (Florence, Italy), in the region nicknamed Caravan Valley. Giottiline was acquired by the RAPIDO Group in 2016l curvy design.

Globecar are manufacturers of small but beautifully made Motorhomes. Peter Pössl founded the Pössl Group in 1989, designing panel van conversions. In 2004, when Peter had retired, the Globecar brand was born.

LAIKA manufacture quality Campervans & Motorhomes with typical Italian flair and style. The LAIKA story starts in 1964 with Giovambattista Moscardini when he made his first caravan. He named his company after the first dog in space. LAIKA was taken over by the Erwin Hymer group in 1993

The MOTOR CARAVANNERS CLUB is not represented at the NEC but it merits inclusion in this directory because exists as an important club which has over 500 rallies a year in a relaxed and enjoyable fashion.

PILOTE manufacture Motorhomes with typical French flair and immaculate attention to detail. 1962 saw the creation of PILOTE and the birth of their first caravan in the Limouziniere cabinet-making workshop.

The Swift group manufacture quality Touring Caravans, Motorhomes, Holiday Homes and Lodges. In 1964 Ken Smith builds his first touring caravan, called The Ten, in premises in Hedon Road, Hull with partner Ken Day, and sells the model for £289.

WEINSBERG are manufacturers of Caravans & Motorhomes which are hallmarked by their top quality. In 1912 Gustav Alt and Wilhelm Schuhmacher established the Karosseriewerke WEINSBERG in Baden‐Würtemberg in WEINSBERG and started production.

Westfalia has been a trendsetter in the market for motorhomes and leisure time vehicles for more than five decades. Johan Bernard started the company in 1844. In 1951 they converted a VW Van into a Campervan for an officer in the British Forces stationed in Germany. The rest is history.
