Certified Locations (CLs)
Certified Locations are small, exclusive campsites in the UK that landowners can operate for touring units without needing full local authority planning permission or a full site licence, provided they are restricted to accommodating a maximum of 5 caravans, motorhomes, or campervans at any one time. Exceeding this limit strips the site of its exempt status and requires formal planning permission. Some sites are permitted to take up to 10 tents alongside or instead of hard-sided units. The MCC's official policy and guidelines explicitly state that their CLs and Night Stops are for use by both members and non-members. A stated goal of this rule is to allow MCC members to travel alongside friends who own motorhomes or campervans, even if those friends do not belong to the MCC or any other camping club
