Barbecue Cylinders

If your new to LPG which gas should you choose?

An Image ofPropane 27mm Clip-on Regulator

All new barbecues should come with come fitted with a regulator. This controls the amount of gas released from the cylinder to the BBQ. You are usually supplied with 27mm clip-on regulator which is red. Sometimes barbecues are supplied with a butane regulator and this is normally a Butane 21mm clip-on LP Regulator. Butane burns at a different temperature and is good for indoor use but I would recommend the use of propane. If you already have a butane cylinder you might be able to swap it, but check with your local stockist first!

Gas Cartridges for Leisure

Obtaining a gas cartridge is different than obtaining a cylinder. From time to time we tend to be "brand loyal" and insist in using that brand only. There are popular companies such as campingaz, coleman and primus which is stocked by thousands of people but you really don't need to travel the world to get one. A generic branded cartridge is just fine and most stockists sell them. Gas cartridges for small to medium stoves and barbecues usually range from 125kg to 500kg and have an EN417 connection. Fold away stoves often use a canister with a bayonet fitting.
